About the Studio
The Centered Body Glen Park Studio is located in a cozy storefront with big windows that look out on to a tree-lined street. The comfortable village like neighborhood is sprinkled with small shops and restaurants. Ample street parking and public transportation options such as BART and Muni provide easy access.
The Studio is fully equipped with state-of-the-art Pilates equipment including reformers, cadillac, springboards, Pilates chair, large barrel, stability balls, rollers, rings, mats, and more. A small changing area is available. Bottled water and hand towels are provided.
SERVICES
We offer one-on-one private training, semi-private training, and small group classes. We have programs for sports-specific conditioning, general health & fitness, pre & post-natal conditioning, and rehabilitation. Pilates can be adapted to any age or fitness level. It is gentle enough for rehabilitation, yet challenging enough for the strongest of athletes. Our teachers will help you reach your goals and encourage you to achieve your potential. In addition to feeling better overall, you will see amazing results.
Centered Body Pilates Method of exercise is a contemporary approach to Pilates that helps you achieve a longer, leaner, and more streamlined body shape, working from the inside out.
CENTERED BODY HISTORY
Centered Body was founded in 2003 by Avenne McBride and Oona Nelson. Friends through equestrian sports, Avenne introduced Pilates to Oona in 1994 and shortly after Oona was hooked. They were both Pilates students before becoming Pilates teachers.
Oona and Avenne opened the 1st studio on Potrero Hill in 2003 and the 2nd studio in Glen Park in 2007.

CENTERED BODY INSTRUCTORS
Centered Body’s success is due to the excellence of our teachers. Each of our teachers is unique. Each one brings a different perspective to their Pilates teaching. Our teachers are certified through reputable and thorough training programs (see bios).
With a background in movement and/or sports training beyond Pilates, our teachers specialize in different aspects of Pilates creating a dynamic and comprehensive approach.
Prior to working at Centered Body, the teachers go through a rigorous interview process and teaching audition.
